During the Covid-19 lockdowns, Oli began writing with long-term directing collaborator Andy Room.

Their first full-length musical, The Night Our Parents Disappeared, is a bonkers comedy adventure about babies taking over the world. Having been workshopped and performed in concert at The Other Palace, the musical was presented at The Lowry as part of their Rewrites festival. Oli and Andy were finalists in the Stiles and Drewe Best New Song Prize for The Inventor’s Daughter, which comes from the show. In Spring 2024, Oli and Andy were invited onto The Other Palace’s Making A Musical podcast to talk about the show. Below is a link to the episode along with some demos on our Soundcloud page.

Andy and Oli are also members of Mercury Musical Developments’ Advanced Writers Lab. They have written songs for new plays by other writers, including The Healing by Jonathan Guy Lewis, and Hummingbird by Chris Neels.

They are currently developing a second musical together.
